Boss driving you nuts? Annoying coworker causing your stress to go thru the roof? We can all relate! As a Life Coach I talk to people everyday about how to remain calm while at work and how to keep their cool. While slapping someone is very effective, it is also highly frowned upon in the business world! So try these great tips instead!
1. Crystals/Worry Stones. Crystals are amazing tools when it comes to a variety of ailments. To use for anxiety in the workplace simply keep a crystal on your desk or in your pocket. When things become stressful put the stone in your hand and rub with your thumb. While rubbing the crystal take slow, deep breaths. Repeat this as often as you need. This is a great tool during meetings as well because you can easily do this without being noticed!
Any crystal will work for this exercise however I would highly recommend Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz, or Tourmaline.
2. Essential Oils. Essential Oils are another all natural, easy to use, method to relieve stress and anxiety in the workplace. Oils and Aromatherapy have been proven over and over to help relieve many ailments. My personal favorite essential oil blends for the workplace is Motivate or Balance by DoTerra. 3. Tapping. Tapping, also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), is a great way to reduce stress, anxiety, and pain in your body. Tapping is done by firmly tapping on the meridian points of the body while repeating a mantra. To use tapping at work to reduce stress you should first find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. If you need to do the tapping exercise in a meeting or at your desk then you can do so by just focusing on your hand tapping points. While tapping the karate chop point 10 times repeat the following in your mind or out loud "Even though I am stressed, I deeply and completely accept myself." The mantra can be adjusted to fit your needs by replacing the "I am stressed" with your ailment. 4. Meditation. Meditation is a great way to reduce stress and anxiety. While meditation is usually done in a quiet location with your eyes closed there are many ways to meditate while sitting at your desk and remain unnoticed. If you can find a quiet, private spot then by all means do so! Spend five minutes with your eyes closed, seated in a comfortable position. Take long deep breaths in through your nose, and exhale fully thru your mouth. Clear your mind and with every exhale imagine all the stress and anxiety leaving your body. If you can not find a quiet location I found a great meditation online that I would recommend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWzhlzUbQ-Y
5. Finger Tracing. Finger tracing is another technique that can be used to focus your brains energy away from the stress and anxiety. Many people use finger labyrinths for tracing. You can also take your pencil and draw different symbols or patterns and just repeatedly trace them. The goal is to focus on tracing the picture over and over while focusing on your breathing. Finger tracing works a lot like doodling or coloring, just perhaps a bit let obvious when in a meeting.
